About Workington
Workington is a coastal town on the Solway Firth, to the West of the beautiful Lake District.
Its geography includes low-lying coastal plains bordered by the Cumbrian Mountains to the southeast.
The area has a maritime climate with cool summers and relatively mild winters influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Rainfall is spread fairly evenly across the year, though autumn and winter are the wettest.
Workington experiences persistent cloud cover, brisk coastal winds, and occasional storms moving in from the Irish Sea, shaping both the town’s environment and daily life.
